Best Seed was founded in 1922 by Richard Best to sell Open-pollinated hybrids and quality test seed saved by farmers for their own use. In 1936, intrigued by the work being done by Dr. Holbert and others at the USDA, Richard followed Dr. Holbert to Funk Bros. Since then we have survived Flood, Drought, and Corporate mergers, but remain committed to the principles and goals of our founder. Supply the Best product at the lowest possible price. 2006 is the 84rd year farmers have depended on our company for their seed needs.

We have three hybrids doing an excellent job in Mid-America. 6640 a new 113 day hybrid, 6643 a 114 day hybrid, 6605, a new, great standing 111 day hybrid is a leader in its maturity group. We offer a full 108 day to 116 day lineup, which includes GMO varieties and IT hybrids.

For the first time, we have extended our Sorghum line up to include a Brown Rib Sorghum Sudan Grass hybrid.
